We are going to Guatemala!

Madison and I are going to Guatemala!!!! Madison came home one night from FC Students (this is the student ministry program at our church, Foothills Church in Maryville, TN) telling me about an interest meeting for a student ministry mission trip to Guatemala. I have been on several mission trips, many of which were during high school with my own student ministry, and I expressed that I want my kids to be able to do missions in high school as well, so I was excited to hear about this opportunity. We went to the meeting and I loved everything I heard, including the fact that students younger than 15 need an adult to attend with them. Madison will only be 15 for two weeks by the time of the trip, so I decided I should probably go with her. She was mad at first, but now I think she is glad I am going (or maybe only resigned to the fact that it doesn’t matter how she feels, I’m going!). I know she would be fine without me, but selfishly, I really just want a front seat to all the amazing things that God is going do in her heart while she is there. I can’t miss that!! Honestly, God is already working in her heart and I am proud of the growth and maturity she is embracing even now as we prepare to go on this trip. This is going to be an amazing ride!

I’m so glad your Dad and I made mission trips a priority in our family. We have seen some beautiful countries and been a part of some amazing God size work. But most of all I’ve seen how these trips have shaped and grown your faith! I can’t wait to see how God will use and grow you and Madison! ❤️
