Thursday and Friday

Yesterday, we spent the day in Antigua, Guatemala, and it was absolutely breathtaking. Nestled at the foot of a volcano, the city offered us stunning scenery throughout the day. Even the newer buildings are designed in early Spanish Colonial style, creating a timeless and beautiful atmosphere.

We explored the local markets, savored the rich flavors of Guatemalan coffee, and toured the grand cathedral. The day ended with an unforgettable dinner at one of the finest restaurants I’ve ever visited. We were served an incredible feast—steak, rice, rolls, tortillas, guacamole, plantains, and a variety of flavorful sauces, all beautifully presented under covered plates. It was a wonderful way to close our time together.

Nathan, the leader of Engadi, concluded our evening by sharing scripture, reminding us of all we had accomplished throughout the week. It was a deeply moving moment—one that left many of us in tears. As we said our goodbyes to the Engadi staff, we felt a deep longing to see them again and continue the work we were privileged to be a part of.

This week has been truly transformative for our team. I’ve watched these students step out of their comfort zones, take on challenges, and embrace discomfort with courage. Many of them have discovered a renewed strength and confidence in how God can use them. I have no doubt that this is only the beginning of extraordinary things in their lives. It has been an honor to know them in this way, and I can’t wait to celebrate the incredible things they will accomplish as they continue to follow God’s path.

Right now, I’m sitting at the airport in Guatemala, waiting for our flight to Houston. We’ve poured out everything—our money, our energy, and our tears. There’s a quiet stillness among us, as I know each person is processing the weight of this experience. The days and weeks ahead will pull them back into the familiar rhythms of daily life, but I pray they won’t forget too quickly. I hope this journey leaves a lasting impact, drawing them closer to God and strengthening their passion for sharing the gospel—both with the nations and at home with their friends.

If you’ve been following our journey this week, thank you. Your support means so much to us. Writing this blog was a personal challenge for me—I’m not naturally comfortable with sharing my thoughts so publicly. It stretched me in new ways, but I hope to grow through this experience. If you have any feedback, I’d love to hear it! Feel free to leave a comment, send me a text, or just let me know the next time we see each other. Either way, I can’t wait to share more of our experiences in person. 😊

And with that, it’s time to sign off. Guatemala 2025—what an unforgettable journey!
